Recipient shall be seeking a secondary education degree or library media major or minor with at least a 3.0 GPA.
Thomas, a native of Farnam, Nebraska, received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from CSC. He received his CAS from the University of Nebraska in 1971 and received his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Syracuse University in New York. He served as superintendent of schools in Illinois, Iowa and New York State. Claire Coffee Brown, a native of Harrison, Nebraska, received her bachelor's degree from CSC in 1962 and began her teaching career. She received her master's degree from Northern Illinois University in 1977 and her Ph.D. from Syracuse University in 1985. She was an administrator in both public and private higher education, served as the associate director of the New York State Council of School Superintendents and as an adjunct assistant professor for the University of New York at Albany. They both feel CSC gave them a good start for their professional lives and they have many special memories of their time here.
